The Next Green Revolution
The First Green Revolution started in the 1960s and
resulted in a doubling of food production that fed world
population growth from 3.3 billion in 1965 to 7 billion
in 2011. That Green Revoution is faltering. Crop yield
growth is flat in many areas, arable land growth rates are
falling, water resources are diminishing, while demand for
food keeps rising.
The Next Green Revoution has just begun, and will play
out over the coming decades. Innovations in seed genetics,
agrochemicals, resource management, biotechnology,
and much more will be the hallmarks of this next green
revolution. It is the means whereby we will feed an everhungrier
world with ever-decreasing resources.
The Agri Innovation Master Fund PLC will identify
and invest in those innovative companies that will be part
of the Next Green Revolution.
